For fire alarm permitting, the $650 base fee includes the stamp fee of $150, which leaves me $450 + clean-up/creation for most jobs up to 15,000 square feet. For apartment complexes and other large jobs, a stamp fee of $500 may apply.
Resubmittal AHJ costs/fees will vary depending on project, location and reason(s) for rejection.
I have done fire alarm submittals for over two dozen cities and counties in Texas since 2002. I design my system drawings to display and explain everything in a simple and easy to understand way by anyone who views them (which most FM’s appreciate).
I do not fill my drawings with unnecessary information that only confuses people which may cause rejection and/or resubmittal.
I explain everything up front and give an exact price or price range (up to a $250 difference usually on large/complex jobs).
